Proper Selection of the Material of Yoga Wear

Yoga wear belongs to close-fitting clothing. You will be in a sweat when doing yoga, so proper selection of the material of yoga wear is very significant. There are many common fabrics of yoga wear, and the main ones are as follows.

Lycra

Lycra is a brand name for elastane, which is a highly elastic synthetic fabric. Despite having different names, Lycra, spandex, and elastane are all the same material, and these fabrics can stretch to 5-8 times their usual sizes.

Advantages: Lycra fabric has good elasticity and is not easy to deform. And this fabric can be used in combination with various fibers without changing the appearance and texture of fabrics. Lycra fabric is very soft.

Disadvantages: Lycra fabric must be blended with other fibers, otherwise the finished fabric cannot be produced.

Modal fibre

Modal fiber is a kind of cellulose fiber, which belongs to the same cellulose fiber as staple rayon, and is a pure artificial fibre.

Advantages: This fiber is soft and has good hygroscopicity, bright color and good draping. Besides, this fibre fabric is crease resistant and easy-care.

Disadvantages: The fabric is expensive and easy to pill.

Chinlon

Chinlon is also known as nylon and its scientific name is polyamide fiber. Nylon fabric has good wear resistance and durability, and belongs to the lightweight fabric.

Advantages: Nylon fabric has excellent elasticity and resilience, and its wear resistance ranks first among all kinds of fabrics, so it has excellent durability.

Disadvantages: It has poor dimensional stability, water absorption and antistatic behaviour.
