Did You Get the Right Swimsuit for Kids? (Part Two)

Except three main points we have mentioned in part one, there are also four additional points we should pay attention to:

1. Split swimsuits or integrated swimsuits?

In terms of style, it is better to choose swimsuits with less stitching, for the risk of seams-splitting during sports. Split type is more convenient to put on and take off than integrated one, in which children can move easily. In addition, also see if the stitches are dense and smooth so that they don't rub against children's skin.

2. Do swimsuits need UV protection?

Some of the children's swimsuits have UV protection signs. The ultraviolet rays refracted through water will be much stronger, so it is better for sure to equip with the additional function of shutting out ultraviolet rays. However, the most important thing for UV protection is that the bare skin area cannot be too large. If it is a bikini type swimsuit, the UV protection effect is about equal to none.

3. To see if there is lining.

Children's swimsuits should have lining, especially lining cloth in crotch to protect children's delicate skin. The lining material should be pure cotton without irritation.

4. Swimsuits decorating should be safe.

Avoid to use certain decorative items on children's swimsuits such as straps, zippers and sequins which can bring potential safety hazards.
Swimwear with straps, especially the head and neck straps, may risk strangulation and suffocation. While zippers are sharp and easy to scratch the skin, it is better to have cloth protection layer. The sequins on the swimsuit are easy to fall off and likely to be swallowed, which become more risky when the material composition is unknown. Thus, it is best not to choose children's swimsuits with sequins.
