In hot summer, go swiming becomes a popular summer-heat elimination activity for you and your children. Swimwear is naturally essential. As clothes worn next to the skin and soaked in swimming pool or sea water for a long time, swimsuits require higher quality. So, is the quality of swimsuits worn by children reliable?
 
Many sample brands of children's swimsuits do not meet the standards, including a variety of big-name swimsuits, such as Decathlon, Disney, Li-Ning and other well-known domestic brands. In this comparative test of swimwear products, the testing items include not only the items required by the national mandatory standards, but also the items explicitly required by the product standards, such as product instructions, fiber content, color fastness to seawater, color fastness to chlorinated water (swimming pool water), color fastness to light, and tensile elastic elongation.

Of the 11 batches of swimsuits for children, 9 batches did not meet the standards, accounting for 81.8%. There are 4 items involved that do not meet the standards, namely, product instructions, fiber content, light fastness and tensile elastic elongation.

Li-Ning swimsuit involves two problems: the product instructions and the tensile strength does not meet the standards. Disney children's swimsuits and Decathlon knitted swimsuits fail to meet the tensile strength standard.

In this test, the item of tensile elastic elongation is the hardest-hit area of the non-standards, with non-conformity accounting for 72.7% of the total number of tests.
 
Reporters learned from professionals that the elastic elongation refers to the percentage of the length of the swimsuit fabric stretched under a specified load relative to the original length. "Elastic elongation can reflect the advantages and disadvantages of the swimsuit fabric and is one of the important indicators for testing the quality of swimsuit products." The expert said that if the elastic elongation is not up to the standard, it is easy to cause partial tearing during wearing, thus posing the risk of "exposure".
